Straps are made for either a 44 in or a 48 in waist depending on the belt. The largest waist size offered is 48 in; there is no 50 in option. Every belt is meant to be cut to an exact fit.
How to size your belt
- Read the cut marks. The back of every leather, vegan and canvas strap is embossed with markings showing where to cut for each waist size: 30 in, 32 in, 34 in and so on.
- Measure your waist and add two inches. Sizing varies between brands, so cutting two sizes above your waist size and trimming down from there is recommended.
- Cut the strap at the mark you determined, using a sturdy pair of scissors. For example, a 32 in waist is cut at the 34 in mark.
- Attach the buckle. Clamp the trap door down on the cut end of the strap; the teeth inside the trap door grip the strap and hold the buckle in place.
- Try the belt on. If it is still longer than you like, detach the buckle, cut again and repeat until the belt sits where you want it.
- If the trap door will not release from a cut end, pry it open with a dull object or a buckle removal tool.
